Samsung today stopped the production of their flagship smartphones in India. by news by Samsung s9, S9 plus, Note9 are stooped due to Indian government import taxes on components like S AMOLED Displays, Camera modules, Processors.
Due to the effect of tax on phone and components the pricing hiking than launched price. So Samsung decided to import units from china with less cost than manufacturing in India. So they stopped production. As S10 is arriving there will be no demand for s9 and note 9 series. This is also a reason for stopping production in India. Samsung is saying they will manufacture all smartphone in india at Nodia plant, in all budget, midrange, flagship category.
in 2018 Samsung started a plant in Noida near Delhi to manufacture smartphones. This was a bit helpful to Indian consumers to get great smartphones at low prices. Now company is saying the will start manufacturing of OLED displays in Noida plant by April 2020.
