Poco X3 Review

Poco, Sub-Brand of Xiaomi launched a Midrange smartphone named Poco X3 Successor to Poco X2.  Poco X3 was released in India on September 29. Poco X3 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB is priced at INR 16,999 Which is $230 or €195 for 6GB + 64GB, INR 18,499 which is $250 or €215 for 6GB + 128GB Variant & 8GB + 128GB Costs INR 19,999 Which is $270 or €230 available in Shadow Grey, Cobalt Blue.

It features the Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm named Snapdragon 732G. this chip is made of 8nm LPP (Low Power Plus) FinFet process. this processor is divided into 2 parts; the first part features 2 x Kryo 470 Gold High power cores which are clocked at 2.3GHz, second part features 6 x Kryo 470 Silver powered cores which are clocked at 1.8GHz. it has Adreno 618 GPU which increases its work by 15% compared to Snapdragon 730G the last Midrange processor from Midrange. It has an X15 Modem which has Download and Uploads speeds of 800 & 300MBPS. It has also integrated Ai Unit built-in the processor which helps in AI Capabilities.

I will divide the review into pros & cons. Let’s see quick specs of Poco X3 and Jump into the review.

Here in Display Department, Poco X3 Features an Excellent Full HD IPS panel with Center Punch hole Camera. the colors are vibrant and enjoyable, viewing angles are also Excellent. There are No issues & problems with screen quality. It is very bright to see in direct sunlight. there is also Support to View HDR 10+.

Stereo Speaker and Headphone Jack:

In Poco X3, Xiaomi Used the Stereo Speaker System and it is Much louder. This Stereo Speakers is Quite Loud and Wrap up with the high Quality Stereo Speakers. these speakers output is clear and sound the Sound does not Distort at higher Volume.

Coming to 3.5mm jack and earphones, the 3.5mm Jack provided with an 24-bit/192kHz audio for clear sound. the headphones are not present in the Box Due to Competitive pricing. but with some good pair headphones for listening to music and for taking voice calls clearly.

Build Quality : 

Poco X3 is Build with a 6000 Series Aluminium Frame on the side and Front of the Device Is Protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. On rear Side Poco X3 Has Plastic Back Because of High Capacity Battery.

it provides a good look and feels Because it is made with 6000 Series Aluminium and Polycarbonate. There are no issues of creakiness with the build quality. Poco F2 Pro well built and the bezels are shrunk down to place a 6.67″ IPS LCD screen. The Poco X3 a Bit Thick and it is About 10.1 mm.

Side Mounted Fingerprint scanner: 

Poco X3side mounted fingerprint sensor which is present on the Side of the phone. By performance, it is fast and very accurate to recognize the fingerprint of the user. 

Face unlocking:

Poco X3 has a face unlock feature. It works Nice in Normal Conditions Very Quickly and And Securely but in Night Conditions it will work 40% Screen brightness to recognize the user.

Weight balance: 

Poco X3 feels A bit Heavy with a 6.67″ Screen and 6000 mAh battery equipped. The weight balance is done well on the device though it is Made Up of 6000 Series Aluminum and Glass On Front and Plastic On Back of the Device.

Battery life:

My Poco X3 lasted a Full Working day with heavy usage and at the end of the day, I had 31% of charge left in the phone which is good for a 6000 mAH Battery. We got 6 Hours of Sot( Screen on time) on using Mobile data which is good. you will get above 6.5 hr Battery life if you use Continuously on WiFi. The ideal drain of Poco X3 is very low. The 33W charging makes a difference and charges the phone in 88min which is a bit good.

MiUi 12 Based On Android 10 :

Here the Poco X3 comes with the MiUi 12 Based on Android 10. We can see Dual apps and other features in this UI Android 10. We can Also see the unnecessary apps that are wasting Ram on the phone Better To UnInstall Them. By having MiUi we can not Expect 2 years of Android Version Upgrades and 3 years of security updates on Poco X3 Which is Bad Thing.

Performance: 

My Poco X3 managed to do day to day tasks very well. There are no issues and problems with the UI. There are no heating issues with Poco X3. It Feels a bit warm In Outdoor Conditions While Recording 4K Videos and Gaming, But From Inside it will be cool Due to Cooling System.

Ram Management : 

Ram Management is done very well on this Poco X3 device. it features 6 / 8 GB ram variants and I did not notice any lags with the 8GB Ram device and there is no reloading of apps on this Poco X3. The multitasking experience is good.

Coming to Gaming, we played Asphalt 9, Call Of Duty & PUBG at the highest graphics setting without lags & frame drops in the game. this Snapdragon 732G Processor is very suitable for heavy gaming but not compete with Snapdragon 855 or 865 Soc’s.

in Poco X3, Out of 64GB, 128GB Storage, we get 50GB, 110GB With Google Account Included.

Call Quality :

The Call quality on Poco X3 is outstanding and there are no issues with cellular call quality. We have taken long calls in a day, and the other party doesn’t complain about call quality. The earpiece is present in Top Bezel Which Acts as a Stereo Speaker Too. In Poco X3 the Calls are very clear through the Loudspeaker.

Rear Camera: 

Coming to the Camera Department, Poco X3 features a Quad Camera setup on the back of the device and a Single Center Punch Hole camera on the front of the device. They work perfectly in Poco X3. let’s divide the cameras and look at the performance of them

64MP Primary Camera:

the 64MP main Camera With PDAF is Awesome and features a Fixed Aperture of F/1.9. The daylight pictures are excellent and contain good details Which are near to natural photos. Exposure is in control with an good Dynamic range to take good pictures in Daylight or Good lighting conditions. In low light conditions, the images are average. With Night Mode it just Improves a Bit.

13MP Ultra Wide Angle Camera:

the 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens on Poco X3 does an Awesome job in good lighting conditions and features a Fixed Aperture of F/2.4. it captures a much wider picture in a 108˚ field of view with Good details Which is Slightly Lower than the Main Camera. exposure also control with a good dynamic range. In low lighting conditions, the pictures from the 13MP camera have a bit of noise in pictures.

3. Depth Camera: Poco X3 has A 2MP Depth Camera of F/2.4 Which Allows You to Capture Good Portrait Shots.

Macro Camera: Poco X3 has A 2MP macro Camera of F/2.4 Which Allows You to Capture Macro Shots From a Distance of 4 Cm. The Quality Of the Image is Pretty Good.

Video recording can be done up to 4k@30fps .the video footage has excellent Colours with good sharpness and with a bit of decent dynamic range. Taking a Look on Stabilization, Stabilization is Very good at 4k @30fps recording.

in 1080P@ 30 / 60fps, the video has Good Colors with good sharpness and with a bit of decent dynamic range. Coming To the Stabilization, it is good at 1080p@60/30fps recording Due to Electronic Image Stabilization.

You Can Record 720p@960fps Super Slow Motion video. It looks Good in Daylight.

Settings

Selfie camera :

Poco X3 has a 20MP selfie camera with a large 1/3″ Sensor size and 80˚ field of view. it has a fixed aperture of F/2.2 the Picture quality is good and captures pictures in a Wide view in good lighting conditions.

This single camera can be used to take portraits images from the front with the Help of Artificial Intelligence.

in 1080P@ 30fps, the video has Good Colors with good sharpness and with a bit of decent dynamic range. Coming To the Stabilization, it is good at 1080P@30fps And 1080p FHD recording Due to Electronic Image Stabilization.
